The Intern Experience

Here’s a glimpse into what our interns do. From monkey walks to social media marketing and to community building, the internship experience varies depending on your learning objectives as well as JGIS’ current plans.

Working With Us

Through JGIS’ internship programme, we strive to provide a fulfilling and enriching internship experience for our interns. Our interns work independently and collaboratively on a wide range of projects and tasks that aim to allow them to fulfil their personal goals and discover their strengths and interests.

Requirements/Expectations

Tertiary students (18 years old and above)

Keen interest in environmental, conservation and wildlife or humanitarian issues

Able to intern for a minimum of 2 months

Passionate and driven

Full-time or part-time arrangements are possible

Available Positions

Events & Operations Volunteer

Requirements

  • Have knowledge and understanding of meeting and event planning principles, requirements, procedures, and available resources
  • Negotiation skillsets with stakeholders (e.g. suppliers/event partners/volunteers)
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills
  • Growth-oriented mindset
Filmmaker

Requirements

  • Must be willing to volunteer for at least 16 weeks and willing to work flexible hours
  • Must have a background in either of the following:
    • Digital animation
    • Videography and video editing
    • Preferably to have experience in the following programs:
      • Adobe AfterEffects
      • TVPaint
      • Keyshot/Blender/Animaker
      • iMovie and/or Windows Movie Maker
  • Having the necessary software and equipment needed for everything in production and post-production is an advantage
